Following the modest box office performance of The Expendables 3 in 2014, production of the fourth film was delayed for nearly a decade. Now, the beloved franchise returns this year with Expend4bles, also known as The Expendables 4.
The production reunites stars Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, and Dolph Lundgren alongside actors new to the franchise, including 50 Cent, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Andy Garcia, and Megan Fox.
Expend4bles is directed by Scott Waugh, the fourth filmmaker to helm a film in the series, following Patrick Hughes, Simon West, and Stallone himself. Though it’s not thought to be the final film in the Expendables franchise, it is rumored to be Stallone’s final appearance as the character Barney Ross.

Whether you are a longtime fan of The Expendables or watching the series for the first time, here is a bit of background information you may find interesting before seeing Expend4bles.

In this installment, we’ll see the appearance of Megan Fox as a CIA operative and the girlfriend of Lee Christmas, Statham’s long-running character and second-in-command to Stallone’s Barney Ross.
