Venom, a popular Marvel superhero character, depicted in a comic version with a dark and intense pose with sharp teeth and a menacing expression

When a shadowy government agency seeks to suppress knowledge of life beyond Earth, Eddie Brock and Venom find themselves on the run. However, the unfriendly arrival of beings from Venom’s homeworld forces the duo into a corner they can’t easily escape.

Three years after the second installment, Sony is thrilled to announce the epic conclusion to the Venom franchise, and we at StreamSafely can’t wait for its release. “Venom: The Last Dance” promises high-stakes action and incredible cinematography — a fitting final sendoff for our favorite human and symbiote team. Join us as we explore the plot of Venom 3, the history of the character, the film’s production, and speculation about the Spider-verse moving forward.

However, while it’s fun to cheer on alien symbiotes on the silver screen, dangerous parasites aren’t limited to fiction. With every new release, digital pirates are ready to leech content from legitimate creators and entrap viewers with the endgame of stealing their private information or corrupting their devices. At StreamSafley, we make it a priority to help ensure you don’t fall victim to bad actors and illegal streaming sites. We encourage you to protect yourself against pirated content and enjoy the whole Venom trilogy without exposing yourself to potential risks.

Everything You Should Know Before Seeing Venom: The Last Dance

“Venom: The Last Dance” marks the third and final chapter of the Venom franchise starring Tom Hardy which began in 2018. However, we at StreamSafely are confident that this is not a final goodbye to the classic Marvel characters, and we’re sure we’ll see them again in new remakes and adaptations across the Multiverse.

Venom’s origins date all the way back to 1982 when a Spider-Man fan named Randy Schueller submitted drawings of a black spidey suit to a contest hosted by Marvel Comics. Marvel’s writing team ran with the idea, purchasing it for $220. Thus, the symbiote was born. Originally introduced to the public in “The Amazing Spider-Man #252” in May 1984 as a symbiotic suit that could read Peter Parker’s thoughts and anticipate his needs, Venom as a character made his first full appearance in “The Amazing Spider-Man #300” after being teased in issues #298 and #299.

In 1994, Venom leaped from the comic books to TV to make his first on-screen debut in “Spider-Man: The Animated Series,” where he was voiced by Hank Azaria. He then made his way to the big screen in 2007, originally appearing in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 3” with Topher Grace as Eddie Brock.

Eleven years later, Venom’s first standalone film would debut with Tom Hardy in the leading role, wowing fans worldwide. The film premiered six months before the MCU’s epic climax in “Avengers: Endgame” and was a refreshing change of pace from the confident, charismatic heroes that Disney had produced up to that point. Hardy was praised for his performance as the exhausted and overwhelmed Eddie Brock and for voicing the sinister and quick-witted banter of Venom. Hardy’s vocal talents had previously been on full display in 2012 during his performance in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” as Bane and as Alfie Solomons in Netflix’s “Peaky Blinders.” The film, distributed by Sony, also distinguished itself from Disney’s superheroes with a much darker and more violent tone that still kept things within a PG-13 rating.

The first Venom film was directed by Ruben Fleischer in 2018, followed by “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” in 2021, directed by Andy Serkis. The new film, “Venom: The Last Dance,” is directed by Kelly Marcel. The trilogy builds off its earlier entries but is separate from Sam Raimi’s interpretation and the character’s animated appearances. The new Venom movie doesn’t even cross over with recent Spider-verse installments like 2024’s “Madame Web.” The only canon crossover Tom Hardy’s Venom has had to the current Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a cameo end-credits scene in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” starring Tom Holland.

We at StreamSafely recommend watching or rewatching the first two films so that everything is fresh in your mind for the franchises’ exciting conclusion.

  • “Venom” (2018): Struggling investigative journalist Eddie Brock fights fruitlessly to take down Carlton Drake, the unethical founder of the Life Foundation. The tides change when Eddie is bonded with an alien symbiote, giving him superhuman strength and a boundless appetite for flesh.
  • “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”: In an attempt to restart his career as a reporter, Eddie Brock accepts an offer to interview serial killer Cletus Kasady on death row. When Cletus himself becomes host to a symbiote and escapes, Eddie and Venom must rise up to put an end to his murderous sprees once and for all.

Both Venom installments are currently available to stream on Disney+.

Kelly Marcel

Kelly Marcel is making her directorial debut in “Venom: The Last Dance.” However, Marcel is no stranger to Venom or the Spider-verse. She contributed to “Venom” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” as a writer and will share writing credits with Tom Hardy for Venom 3, just as she did for the second film.

Her previous writing credits include Disney’s “Curella” (2021), “Fifty Shades of Grey” (2015), and “Saving Mr. Banks” (2013).

Movie Plot

Pursued by government agencies and hostile creatures from Venom’s homeworld, Eddie and Venom are forced to go on the run. With enemies closing in from every angle, the two must confront a devastating decision that could determine whether they make it out together on the other side.

Genre

“Venom: The Last Dance” is tagged on IMDb as Superhero, Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, and Thriller, and the violence and borderline body horror of the first films tells us exactly why. Given that director Kelly Marcel was a principal writer on all three films, the violence is likely to continue, especially in the trilogy’s final chapter.

Runtime

No official runtime for Venom 3 has been reported, but both of its earlier installments had runtimes of under two hours.

Rating

The newest Venom film has not yet been rated, but is expected to receive a PG-13 rating like “Venom” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” before it. The first two films were tagged by Rotten Tomatoes as including intense sci-fi violence, action, some strong language, disturbing material, intense sequences of violence, and suggestive references.

Theatrical Release Date

“Venom: The Last Dance” is scheduled to premiere on October 25, 2024, after being moved from its original November 8 debut date.

Streaming Options

“Venom: The Last Dance” is scheduled to be released exclusively to theaters in premium formats and IMAX. Both of the previous films are available to stream now on Disney+ in select regions. They can also be purchased or rented from Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and the Microsoft Store.

How To Stream Venom: The Last Dance

The final entry into Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy is expected to premiere exclusively in theaters. Though the film is promoted as having both premium formats and IMAX options, the film will not have a simultaneous release to any streaming site. Therefore, if you see any provider offering access to the film before or during its theatrical run, it’s almost certainly an illegal platform. There are numerous reasons to avoid pirated content, but a major one is the protection of your personal information and the security of your device.
